I am a Stay-At-Home Writer
It is not for everyone

It requires work.

Here is how I am doing it

I subscribe to Medium.com and receive an income when I upload stories on their platform.

I publish PAY-TO-READ stories on their platform as the ShortClipWriter.

I publish Fiction and Personal Fiction.

My stories are placed behind a paywall.

It requires a membership fee to read the stories.

Non-subscribers will see the first few words of my stories. Beyond that, they will receive a popup showing a sign-up screen.

After joining, they can read the rest of my story.

Those who opt-in and pay a fee can read as many articles as they wish, for the next month.

They can also choose an annual fee for the next 12 months of reading.

A small portion of their subscription fee goes to me when they read one of my stories on the platform.

When I read the work of other writers on the platform, they earn an income from my membership fee.

Medium.com is a community of readers supporting online Medium writers.

It is ad-free.

Readers can concentrate on reading, not dodging flashing ads.

I also have Free-2-Read tutorials under another handle.

Medium.com/@SimDayBay

That is where I publish my work in front of a paywall.

Anyone with an internet connection can read my work and I do not earn an income.

The reader is not asked to sign up or pay a fee.

Here is my goal

I am making tutorials for Stay-At-Home Writers.

The tutorials cover the tools I learned to use when creating online content to publish on Medium.

I will share my learning experience on how I learned to use the tools that I found.

My experience

My first two years of publishing stories have taught me an important lesson about being an online writer.

I learned that I must be willing to sit in the writer's chair.

I must establish a regular schedule.

I must set a weekly goal to improve the quality of each story that I publish.

In addition, I have the freedom to take as long as I want.

Have you heard this story?

A visitor to New York saw a person playing the guitar on a street corner.

When the music stopped, the tourist placed money in the tip basket and asked, “Hey man, how did you learn to play that guitar so good?”

With a smile, the artist replied, Practice — Practice — Practice.  You must be willing to do it when the cold winds are blowing and everything looks bleak.”
